Hi Acdemia,

Happy National Awakening Day 2024

Indonesia’s National Awakening Day is a time to celebrate the country’s history of resistance and resilience in the face of adversity. And as the world emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s celebration is sure to be especially meaningful. The past year has been a challenging time for everyone, but it has also been a time of awakening – a time when we have been forced to confront the inadequacies of our old ways and create new solutions. As we celebrate National Awakening Day 2024, we should remember the lessons of the past and use them to create a brighter future, awaken to the possibilities of a post-COVID era, and work together to build a better world for ourselves and for future generations.

The history of National Awakening Day in Indonesia dates back to the early 20th century, during the colonial period of the Dutch East Indies. The country had been under Dutch colonial rule for over three centuries, and many Indonesians had become disillusioned with the oppressive colonial system.

In the early 1900s, a group of Indonesian intellectuals and activists began to campaign for greater political and economic rights for the Indonesian people. They believed that Indonesia should be governed by Indonesians, not by the Dutch colonial authorities.

One of the most prominent figures in this movement was a man named Ki Hajar Dewantara. Dewantara was a Javanese educator who believed that education was the key to Indonesia’s future. He founded the Taman Siswa school in Yogyakarta in 1922, which aimed to provide education for all Indonesians, regardless of their social or economic background.

Other influential figures in the Indonesian independence movement included Sukarno, Mohammad Hatta, and Sutan Sjahrir. These leaders organized rallies and protests throughout the 1920s and 1930s, calling for an end to Dutch colonial rule and the establishment of an independent Indonesian state.

National Awakening Day was first celebrated on May 20, 1908, in the city of Surabaya. The day was chosen to commemorate the founding of Budi Utomo, a pioneering organization in the Indonesian independence movement. Budi Utomo was founded by a group of Javanese aristocrats who believed that Indonesia needed to modernize and develop its own culture and traditions.

Many other countries are also celebrating their own National Awakening Day as it is a significant event that is celebrated in many countries around the world. This day is meant to commemorate the struggle for independence and the efforts made by the people of the country to modernize and develop.

We believe the primary goals and visions of many countries’ awakening days in the era of modernization include economic development, political stability, and social progress. Economic development is often a primary goal because it is seen as the key to improving the standard of living for the people of the country. Political stability is also important because it creates an environment that is conducive to economic growth and development. Finally, social progress is necessary to ensure that the benefits of economic growth and political stability are shared by all members of society.

For example, India celebrates Independence Day on August 15th every year. The primary objective of Independence Day is to promote economic growth and development. The Indian government has set a target of achieving a $5 trillion economy by 2024. To achieve this target, the government is focusing on infrastructure development, digitalization, and promoting entrepreneurship.

In China, National Day is celebrated on October 1st every year. The primary objective of National Day is to promote economic growth and political stability. The Chinese government has set a target of achieving a “moderately prosperous society” by 2021. To achieve this target, the government is focusing on infrastructure development, poverty alleviation, and environmental protection.

In short, National Awakening Day is a significant event celebrated in many countries around the world. The primary goals and visions of awakening days in the era of modernization include economic development, political stability, and social progress. Indonesia’s awakening day objectives for the year 2024 are to become a developed country and win global competition. This objective is similar to the goals and objectives of other countries that celebrate awakening days, such as India and China. To achieve these goals and objectives, these countries are focusing on policies aimed at promoting economic growth, political stability, and social progress.
